Recently, I have been taking a liking to furniture again. These two chairs were actually on the side of the road ready to head to the dump. I've been wanting to make my front porch more inviting without spending a lot of money while putting my artistic flair to work. So, I picked up a can a paint for around $15 with a primer, and started to reinvent these two 70's dump specials. I started out with "Cosmos Blue" and covered the chairs with two coats of paint. I then took some craft paint for around $2, and brushed the areas I missed. I also used this to create a "shabby" look. And finally I put some wall decal stickers I found at the Dollar Tree on the top space on the chairs! This was fun, but it was time consuming. I would recommend giving yourself a good week to renovate furniture. Several coats had to be applied and it has to dry thoroughly. This week, I plan to zip over to T.J. Maxx and find some discounted pillows to place on the chairs to add that extra flair! This whole project so far has cost me $20 out of pocket :O) The centerpiece I already had. I just added the color scheme to the table and the flower pot.
