Last night I actually found the time to draw and paint! I am hoping that you will see more artwork produced in the upcoming months. This little girl is lively and full of "happy". Her name is Haruka. In Japanese, this means "spring". She will be the last in my Kawaii series for this year. So enjoy! The Feast of St. Michael
"Michaelmas" is the term we use in Waldorf schools to describe a feast or festival that celebrates St. Michael's defeat against Satan in Heaven. The festival is named for the Archangel Michael, conqueror of the powers of darkness, the harvester of the deeds of human souls. It is also a time where autumn has arrived. I recently had the privilege to meet a wonderful Waldorf teacher and she recommended these Waldorf Stars. They are very easy to make and are a wonderful edition to any window. It really captivates the spirit of art and that is color! Look at how bright and beautiful it turned out. The paper is made of bees wax and can be purchased from her store in Maine. This Christmas has seemed a bit "off". I am not sure why. This weekend I had a great time with a dear friend and we ended up going to do some shopping in a nearby town. As we went here and there, I really felt a little overwhelmed at the prices of items and then on top of it the poor quality and lack of original thinking that went into.
