I created our very own Waldorf rhythm chart yesterday. I am so thrilled with how it came out! I used some watercolor paper and secured the back with an additional piece of watercolor paper. In addition, I used some colored pencils and chalk pastels. Creating this has really taught me the idea behind rhythm.
Unlike a rigid schedule, a rhythm is more a "flow of events" that happen in a given time period. So you could have a daily rhythm chart, a weekly, rhythm chart, or even a yearly/seasonal chart. This is good way to let the little ones understand their days better. Each day is colored coded based on an ancient farming method. My son loves it! I plan on securing it a piece of wood. Each day he can turn the wheel to discover the event of the day and color of the day.Monday - Moon - Rice - Purple/violet - Jasmine
Tuesday - Mars - Barley - Red - Clove
Wednesday - Mercury - Millet - Yellow - Copal
Thursday - Jupiter - Rye - Orange - Cedar
Friday - Venus - Oats - Green - Rose
Saturday - Saturn - Corn - Indigo - Myrrh
Sunday - Sun - Wheat - White - Frankincense
